Eletrobras is managed by a Board of Executive Officers comprised by: Chief Executive, Administration, Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Regulation and Financial and Investor Relations Offices. Its Board of Directors has eight members and the Fiscal Council is currently comprised of five members and five alternates. With the purpose of complying with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), the Fiscal Council has been adapted, from now having a financial expert among its members, exercising the duty of an Audit Committee. Eletrobras also has an Advisory Council, with five members known for their experience in high management positions in the Brazilian electricity sector.

Chief Executive Officer:  José da Costa Carvalho Neto
Electrical Engineer and Master in Electrical Engineering by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, José da Costa Carvalho Neto was the Deputy Secretary of Mines and Energy of Minas Gerais, in 1987, and was the Chairman of Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig) between July 1998 and January 1999. Also at Cemig, where he started as a trainee in 1966, he was Chief Distribution Officer, from 1991 to 1997, and held the offices of Superintendent, Department and Division Manager. He was a professor in Power Plants subject at Pontifical Catholic University-MG, from 1970 up to 1977. At private enterprise, he held the offices of CEO of Arcadis Logos Energia, Member of the Board of Directors of Logos Engenharia and Enerconsult and Director of Orteng Equipamentos e Sistemas.
Chief Administration Officer:  Alexandre Aniz
Alexandre Aniz is a lawyer, graduated from Mackenzie University and specialized in Corporate Income Tax by Apet. He served as vice president and acting president of the Commercial Registry of the State of São Paulo and CEO of Ceret Foundation (now Workers’ Park), and has held, in São Paulo, the offices of subprefect of Ipiranga, chief of staff at the subprefecture of Vila Mariana and legal advisor and chairman of the Bidding Committee of the subprefecture of Cidade Tiradentes. Founding partner of Aniz e Araujo Sociedade de Advogados, in the private sector he was the CEO and chairman of the Board of Directors of 3e Energia e Participações S.A., a member of the Fiscal Council of companies of the group Jahu Construtora e Incorporadora S.A. and a member of the Commission of Environment and Risk Management of Abamec (current Apimec).
Chief Distribution Officer:  Marcos Aurelio Madureira da Silva
Marcos Aurelio Madureira da Silva has a degree in Electrical Engineering by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with postgraduate degree in Economic Engineering by Dom Cabral Foundation and Master of Business Administration (MBA) by Ibmec. He worked for 27 years at Cemig holding several supervision positions, including, in 1998, the company’s Chief Distribution Officer. He further worked for ten years in Energisa group holding positions in several offices, working, until April 2011, as Chief Operation and Business Officer of Energisa Soluções. Marcos Aurelio Madureira has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Electric System National Operator (ONS) between 1999 and 2000. He accumulates the positions of Chief Distribution Officer of Eletrobras and president of the boards of the Eletrobras distribution companies. He was interim CEO of Eletrobras Chesf from October 2013 until April 2014, when he returned to hold the position of Chief Distribution Officer of Eletrobras.
Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer:  Armando Casado de Araujo
Armando Casado de Araujo has a degree in Business Management from the Mathematical, Administrative and Social Sciences University of Brasília. He has a Specialization in Financial Management by PUC/RJ, Executive MBA in Finances and postgraduate degree by Ibmec, and International Executive APG MBA by Amaná-Key. He has over 30 years of experience in the electricity sector. Before becoming Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer of Eletrobras, he was an assistant in the same board since June 2008.
Chief Generation Officer:  Valter Luiz Cardeal de Souza (licensed director)
Valter Luiz Cardeal de Souza holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from PUCRS. His career in the electricity sector spans more than 30 years. Valter Cardeal was interim chairman of Eletrobras from 2007 to 2008. He is an employee of Companhia Estadual de Energia Elétrica do Rio Grande do Sul (CEEE) since 1971, where he led the Generation, Transmission and Distribution Offices.
Chief Generation Officer:  Renato Soares Sacramento (interim director)
Renato Soares Sacramento is an electrical engineer graduated at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with extension courses in Hydrothermal System Optimization by Coppe/UFRJ and University of Waterloo, Canada, and Business Administration at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). He worked at Cemig from 1975 to 1985, where he held technical positions and the position of division manager. He is an employee of Eletrobras since 1985, having held technical positions in the areas of energy operation planning, accounting and sale of electricity, and he has worked in the coordination of groups and coordinating bodies committees for energy operation of the National Interconnected System (SIN). He was general coordinator of board of directors, assistant director, department and division manager and Commercialization Superintendent of Eletrobras.
Chief Regulation Officer:  Josias Matos de Araujo
Josias Matos de Araujo holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with a postgraduate degree in Geophysical and Geological Sciences from the Federal University of Pará. He holds a Master's degree in Power Systems from the Federal School of Engineering in Itajubá, an International Executive MBA by Amana-Key and a Specialization in Management Skills from Dom Cabral Foundation. From 2010 to 2014, he was the CEO of Eletrobras Eletronorte, where he worked for 31 years and served, among other positions, as Superintendent of Engineering of Transmission Operation and Maintenance. In the Ministry of Mines and Energy, he served as National Secretary of Electrical Energy. He was the National Coordinator of the Transmission Business of Bracier/Cier, the Chief Financial Officer and the first vice president of Cigré-Brazil and a member of the Board of Directors of Eletrobras Eletronuclear. Currently, in addition to holding the position of Chief Regulation Officer of Eletrobras, he is the president of Cigré-Brazil.
Chief Transmission Officer:  José Antonio Muniz Lopes
José Antonio Muniz Lopes has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the School of Engineering of the Federal University of Pernambuco. The Chief Transmission Officer of Eletrobras was President of the company, from 2008 to 2011, of Eletrobras Eletronorte, from 1996 to 2003, and of Eletrobras Chesf, from 1992 to 1993. He was also Chief Financial and Chief Administrative Officer of Eletrobras Chesf, and held the positions of General Coordinator of the Office of the President, and Director of Planning and Engineering at Eletrobras Eletronorte. In 1994, he was Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy during the recovery planning for Centrais Elétricas Mato-Grossenses S.A. (Cemat) and Companhia Energética do Piauí (Eletrobras Distribution Piauí).
