In December, 2005, the Board of Directors from Eletrobrás developed a Board for Opportunity Appraisal, for the purpose of creation of a corporate university for the entire Eletrobrás System. Such deliberation intended to enable an arrangement between the education of employees included in said System and the strategic objects established in Strategic Planning.
The following topics were set forth for preparation, in the extent of aforesaid Board:
mapping of the activities in progress in the companies comprising the Eletrobrás System, and formatting of a model for a corporate university;
preparation of an appraisal for the viability of digital TV and further medias for distance education;
designation of priority projects for prompt execution by the corporate university;
preparation of the pedagogical project;
viability appraisal of the methodology for implementing the university;
establishment of the necessary human resources;
amount and viability of financial resources.
Following the aforementioned results, the Board, in a meeting held on January, 2006, counting on the presence of Eletrobrás’s President and Board of Administration, emphasized the events below, in the capacity of guidelines for formatting the model for the university:
1. Role of the holding Eletrobrás in promoting the synergy of corporate education actions, whether in progress or future, in the companies comprising the Eletrobrás System;
2. Formatting of a model of corporate university for the entire System and not only for holding Eletrobrás;
3. Survey of services suppliers, then hired individually by the companies, considering a possible coincidence towards a supplier, for the purposes to be hired by said System, aiming at the obtainment of scale economies;
4. Opportunity to share the technological infrastructure presently available at the companies, for the development of corporate university activities.
Once the viability appraisal is concluded, and also the preparation of a final report, favorable to the development of a corporate university, with the designation of an operational model and certain priority projects for prompt development, therefore, the creation of the Corporate University for the Eletrobrás System was approved by the corporate Board of Directors. |  |
